Branding Design: Jammed
Brief: To create a logo and packaging/merchandise to represent launching jam brand known as Jammed. Goal is to be bold, fun and fruity.
What I did: Embraced common colors of Jam (red, blue, purple) with purpose to be familiar on the shelves but still room for excitement! Rounded letter to echo back the gooeyness of jam but preserve readability. Logo simple but quirky (off-set exclamation point) and tag-line ties into goodness of jam and also what you do with it. ("Spread the Love")
Software: Adobe CS (Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign) and Procreate

Celebrities in Strange Situations
Assigned a project to pick a celebrity and put them in a situation they would most likely never be in. I chose Marilyn Monroe in the army which does have some truth to it considering she performed for the troops in February of 1953. I chose to have an explosion cause her skirt to blow up to display her iconic pose.

Aubrey Beardsley Tarot Cards
A semester long project of an art piece designed in the style of a chosen graphic designer/artist. My chosen person was Aubrey Beardsley, a pioneer of the art nouveau movement. I created four different tarot cards, implementing imagery commonly found on tarot cards and merging it with Beardsley's delicate yet grotesque style.

Greeting Card
I was approached to design and create a greeting card that could be sold in stores. One thing about greeting cards is the way they are set up; they tend to have a few certain formulas to create one with a good punch. Obviously, I had not created a greeting card like this prior, so a lot of the process was very new to me. I wanted it to be humorous and a little cheeky, so I went with old age being the butt of the joke, but in a lighthearted way. I thought it would be funny to have the card reference turning 99 years old, having a joke in there about hitting triple digits or something along those lines. I was pretty set on incorporating that little gimmick.

College Life Comic
This was a project created for "Humorous Cartooning," a class I took my freshman year of college. I tried to give a funny and relatable glimpse into the experiences and challenges faced by college students in a lighthearted and entertaining way.

Cactus Logo
A recent project that showcases a humble, black line art T-shirt design for music artist Adam Townsend. The design features a cactus, a symbol of resilience and adaptability, which perfectly embodies Adam's personality and his music style.

Newspaper Comics
The Quad, which is Cazenovia College’s newspaper, was in need of art for their creatives section. Specifically, they urged for comics, so I created a series that readers could always come back to. There were three issues coming out for the semester my comics were ran so I created three comics. My comic strip is titled “Zadie and Zeke: The Incompetent Robbers” which follows two robbers who just can’t seem to rob. It’s lighthearted and fun, and something I would like to continue in the future. While “Zadie and Zeke” has come to a close for now, I continue to create comics for the newspaper, but they are more in the realm of one-shots.

Movie Poster - The Heat
The goal of this project was to create a fictional movie and a poster to go along with it. I wanted to do something fun but with an action-packed cover. I had been watching a lot of media that was 70’s themed or had that sort of aesthetic so it was fresh on my mind. I drew inspiration from movie posters like Saturday Night Fever, Super Fly, and others with a similar aesthetic. I incorporated a lot of classic patterns and color combinations, as well as researched the style of the time to see how people would style their clothes and wear their hair. I ultimately came up with a premise where a group of regulars attending Studio 54 are present when an attack is struck at the night club. It ends up falling into the hands of a couple discoing rookies to save the lives of the community, with the tagline "Can you dig it?"

Storyboard - Reanimator
For this project, we were instructed to create a storyboard for a scene from the film Reanimator. The film is essentially about some amateur scientists who try to bring back dead animals to life with chemical concoctions and the experiment ends up going awry. While others in the class had, I had not seen the movie before, so it was nice to be able to leave the character appearances up to my own imagination. We were allowed to change the ending and what happened, but my professor gave a general sequence for what was to take place. I had a lot of fun messing around with camera angles and shots to make the scenes more interesting, as well as exaggeration to get the point across.

Storybook Page - Alliteration
The guidelines for this project were to create an illustration based on an alliterated sentence. I was instructed to include hidden objects that began with the corresponding letter for my sentence. One aspect that I was not completely comfortable with was the painting. It was strongly encouraged to incorporate watercolor or paint of some kind into our projects, whether it was digital or not. Since I’m not super familiar with the medium, it took some getting used to, but I did some experimenting with paints and that helped get me in the right headspace. I absolutely wanted to challenge myself because I’ve never been exceptionally skilled at painting of any kind.
